BBYO International Convention 2026

Volunteer Interest Form

Every year over U.S. Presidentsʼ Day weekend in February, more than 5,000 of the Jewish community’s top teen leaders, educators, influencers, professionals, and philanthropists from around the world gather for BBYO International Convention (IC), one of the largest Jewish communal events of the year!

BBYO is will need 300+ volunteers in a variety of roles during Global Ambassadors Week, Thursday, February 5th through Tuesday, February 10th and BBYO International Convention, Wednesday, February 11, 2026, through Monday, February 16, 2026. Opportunities for volunteering are distributed across convenient shifts, and all volunteers are provided with full access to IC’s signature events throughout the week.

BBYO does not provide transportation, parking or accommodations for IC Volunteers. Volunteers must have graduated from high school in 2024 or before then and complete the Pennsylvania Compliance Requirements in order to volunteer:

Step 1: Pennsylvania Background Check
‍This verifies criminal history information from the Pennsylvania State Police. These checks aim to assess the suitability of individuals for to have contact with children or other vulnerable populations

Step 2: Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Check
A child abuse history clearance, also known as an Act 151 clearance, is required for certain individuals working with children or volunteering in settings where they might interact with minors. This clearance is a check to ensure individuals are not listed in the state's child abuse registry.

Step 3: FBI Fingerprint Check or Review/Sign a Disclosure Statement
“Federal Criminal History Records/FBI Check” is a check of federal criminal history information obtained by the submission of a full set of fingerprints to the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent. If you have resided in Pennsylvania for ten years consecutively, you are not required to complete an FBI fingerprint check and will instead be asked to sign a waiver.

If you have completed any of the steps outlined above within the last 5 years, you may submit any current documents to fulfill those requirements, provided they have a 5-year validity period and do not expire before February 16, 2026.

Please note that your participation as an IC volunteer will be contingent upon successful completion of any Pennsylvania State required compliance steps. In order to complete your compliance and be confirmed to sign up for a volunteer shift, you must ensure that all clearances have been uploaded to the Volunteer Management System. Due to the compliance requirements, BBYO strongly encourages volunteers to plan on volunteering multiple shifts throughout the weekend.

At International Convention participants will have the opportunity to go out into the Greater Philadelphia community to experience all the city has to offer. BBYO is looking for connections to unique and exciting venues to host an array of programs, including educational, athletic, recreational, and arts and cultural activities. Venues that have hands-on programming and speaker opportunities in addition to space are a plus!
